The "Reading Rainbow" is coming to Louisville.

The 2025 Louisville Book Festival , which takes place Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Kentucky International Convention Center, 221 S. Fourth St., in downtown Louisville, is back for its sixth year and will feature a series of notable authors plus Mychal Threets, a viral literacy advocate known on social media as "Mychal the Librarian."

In addition to his role as a champion for joyful reading and mental health, Threets was recently named the new host of the rebooted beloved PBS children’s program “Reading Rainbow.”

The Louisville Book Festival is a free, public literary event held annually in Louisville that celebrates reading, writing, and the power of storytelling.
