We’ve arrived at this point sooner than expected, but here’s your first “7 Questions” of the offseason.

Kyle Schwarber, Teoscar Hernandez, Kiké Hernández… imagine how much they would have helped the Red Sox this year.

Remember when Chaim Bloom said a long-term contract for Schwarber didn’t “make sense” for the Red Sox?

That’s executive-speak for “he didn’t fit our budget.” Any team focused on trying to win a World Series would want a bonafide slugger with Schwarber’s October resumé. Unfortunately, the Red Sox were more focused on rebuilding their farm system at the time.

This offseason, they may have a second chance to lock in one of the best big bats in the biz.
