CINCINNATI — David Montgomery’s legs and talent and drive carried him far away from a difficult childhood in Cincinnati.

The future Detroit Lions running back dreamed of bigger things and a better life as he made his way through a college career at Iowa State and then a third-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2019.

On Sunday, he returned to play in his hometown for the first time since his senior season at Mt. Healthy High in 2015.
