THE Philadelphia Eagles have suffered their first loss of the season after a failed Hail Mary attempt.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts , 27, could not land his target as the Eagles suffered a 21-17 loss against the Denver Broncos .

Receivers Devonta Smith, 26, and AJ Brown, 28, awkwardly collided in the end zone as time expired.

The ball appeared to land in both players' hands before spilling forwards and out of bounds.

Both players laid motionless on the grass for several seconds with Smith pinning Brown down.

This brings the Super Bowl LIX champions' impressive winning run to an end.

NFL fans have taken to social media to ridicule the side for the game's awkward ending.
