It was an eventful week in local high school sports.

Capital golfer John Gilbert conquered a playoff and the Butte Country Club last Thursday and Friday to win the Class AA boys state golf championship.

The playoff round for the boys was won by Helena Capital's John Gilbert, while the Bozeman girls and Missoula Sentinel boys won team titles

The Bruins took second as a team. This was the fourth trophy they have won in the past seven seasons, as well as the second top-two finish in four years after winning the Class AA team state championship in 2022.
