State pensioners born after 1951 face losing their Winter Fuel Payment - if they earn £23,027 or more. Anyone who earns over £35k faces HMRC clawing back their Winter Fuel Allowance.

Because of the New State Pension rate for state pensioners, which is for men born before 1951 and women after 1953, state pensioners who earn £23,027 face being dragged over the £35k threshold.

The full new State Pension amount is £230.25 per week, or £11,973.00 per year for the 2025/26 financial year (April 2025 to April 2026). However, you only get the full amount if you have 35 years of qualifying National Insurance (NI) contributions; any less than this will result in a smaller State Pension.
