CHITRADURGA: A police constable was seriously injured after being hit by a lorry while crossing the road near Aimangala village in Chitradurga district.

Police constable Sangamesh Naik, who hails from Belagavi, was crossing the road to attend a training programme at the Aimangala Police Training School, when a lorry struck him, leaving him with severe injuries in the leg, head, and face.

Naik is currently undergoing treatment at the Chitradurga district hospital. The Aimangala police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
