Diet Coke fans can get excited because a beloved flavor is coming back to grocery stores across the country.

On Monday, Oct. 6, Retro Diet Coke Lime is returning to shelves for a limited time while supplies last, according to a news release emailed to USA TODAY. The drink will be available to purchase in 12-pack cans and 20-ounce bottles.

"Consumer demand for nostalgic favorites has never been stronger, and Diet Coke is listening," the news release stated. "The runaway success of Retro Diet Cherry Coke, which launched for a limited time earlier this year, proved just how much appetite there is for throwback flavors that connect people to cultural moments and personal memories."

When will Retro Diet Coke Lime be available for purchase?

People can begin purchasing the limited-time flavor on Monday, Oct. 6.

Coca-Cola's website states that, "This throwback flavor is here for a good time, not a long time."

When did Retro Diet Coke Lime first come out?

The Diet Coke flavor first launched in 2004 and was discontinued in 2018, according to NBC Bay Area. While it was discontinued, fans were still able to get the flavor from Coca-Cola Free Style machines.

The launch of Retro Diet Coke Lime follows the company's limited-time release of Retro Diet Cherry Coke earlier in 2025.
