Tulsa Day Center Shoe Drive
As fall and winter approach, the Tulsa Day Center is making sure no one goes without a good pair of shoes this season. The homeless shelter is launching its Goody 2 Shoes shoe drive to help fill the gap. The center is asking for all sizes - and especially durable walking shoes.
"Shoes are necessary for our individuals because mostly the transportation is walking for most people experiencing homelessness, so good-fitting shoes are great to have," said CEO Mack Haltom.
A Constant Need
Haltom says he sees folks come in with shoes that don’t fit or are broken every day. And with the shelter seeing almost 300 people daily, he says the need is almost always there.
