SARTELL, Minn. — A 12-year-old central Minnesota boy is hospitalized in critical condition but alive, thanks to Samaritans who jumped in to help.

Sartell police say the boy was riding his bike down what local residents call "Muskie Hill" when he crashed near the bottom of the hill. The boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but was obviously injured.

The boy has been identified as Raghav Shrestha, a seventh grader at Sartell-St. Stephen Middle School.

Shrestha's 10-year-old friend saw the crash and called 911, but was having trouble telling dispatchers the location where it happened. Police say an adult nearly came to help and was able to verify the location where first responders would find the victim.
