Detectives from the Mohave County Sheriff's Office were investigating a homicide after a woman's body was discovered in a cardboard box in a remote desert area east of Kingman in northwestern Arizona.

On Sept. 5, deputies responded to the area near Windmill Ranch Road after receiving a report of a suspicious package in a wash, the Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post .
