Actress Kimberly Hébert Gregory, known for her role on the HBO hit series “Vice Principals” has died. Her death was confirmed in an Instagram post by her ex-husband, fellow actor and musician Chester Gregory.

Chester did not reveal a cause of death, but said Gregory died on Friday, Oct. 3.

“So much more than ex-wife, you were my friend. Our son, the song we wrote together, is the living echo of your light,” Chester wrote. “Through Him, Your Brilliance Will Never Fade.Through Him, Your Laughter Will Always Resound.”

Gregory began appearing in films in 2007 with a small role in the Chris Rock led “I Think I Love My Wife.” In that same year, Gregory earned roles in the TV shows “Gossip Girl” and “The Black Donnellys.” She would later go on to have regular appearances on “Brooklyn Nine-Ni
