CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A 14-year-old is fighting for his life in the hospital after he was hit by a vehicle over the weekend, according to a Colerain Township spokesperson.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday, Colerain police were called to the area of Colerain Road and Day Road for a reported accident, township communications specialist Helen Tracey-Noren wrote in a press release.

Officers arrived at the scene to find the teen unconscious, but breathing.

The teen appeared to be riding a bike when he was hit by a vehicle, according to the township spokesperson.

Colerain Township Department of Fire and EMS took the 14-year-old to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he remains, according to Tracey-Noren.

The township spokesperson said the teen has life-threatening injuries.
