CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Joshua Al Lateef Jr. Foundation will raise awareness and provide scholarships for swim lessons.
Jonisa Cook knows the importance of having supportive services for families raising children with autism.
That’s why starting “The Joshua Al-Lateef Jr. Foundation” was something she knew she had to do after the sudden death of her 6-year-old autistic son.
Cook says the foundation will provide various resources and scholarships to families with autistic and neurodivergent children.
Some of those scholarships include free swim classes in Joshua’s name.
Something Cook says there is an extremely high need for, as the risk of children with autism drowning is more likely than those without.
