Almost a week into the government shutdown , operations at Boston's Logan International Airport appear to be holding up.
On Oct. 1, the federal government shut down as lawmakers failed to reach an agreement over funding, causing some services to close temporarily. Days later, the shutdown is still in effect.
While most employees at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are deemed "essential" and expected to work through the shutdown , they won't get paid until the government is funded again.
This means the 31,606 passengers who fly through Massachusetts airports each day could see delays due to the shutdown's staffing impacts, according to Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass.
