Mark Sanchez now faces a felony charge for his role in a violent altercation that occurred on Saturday.

Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said during a press conference on Monday that his office filed a Level 5 felony charge of battery resulting in serious bodily injury against Sanchez.

The charge carries a 1- to 6- year sentence. Mears stressed that additional information is still being obtained.

“We are still in the early stages of the investigation,” Mears said . “This is by no means the end of the investigation, this by no means means these are going to be the final charges we move forward with.”
