Mariano's parent company Kroger has recalled two popular varieties of deli pasta salad sold at grocery stores in 28 states, including Illinois, because one of the ingredients was possibly contaminated with listeria.
The recall applies to Kroger's Basil Pesto Bowtie Salad and Smoked Mozzarella Penne Salad sold in the deli section of grocery stores. The items were sold in August, September and October 2025 across Kroger's family of stores, a release from the company said.
In Illinois, that including Kroger and Mariano's grocery stores, according to a notice on the grocer's website.
The recall follows one already issued that impacts certain pasta products sold at Walmart and Trader Joe's, a release from Kroger said, with officials saying the pasta, manufactured by Nate's Fine Foods was
