Authorities have identified the man who died in a house fire in Fairfax on Sunday as 93-year-old Russell Olson of Fairfax.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says four people escaped the blaze, with two of them being taken to University of Iowa Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Authorities from the State Fire Marshall’s Office and the Linn County Sheriff’s Office are still actively investigating the incident.

FAIRFAX, Iowa - An elderly man was killed in a Linn County house fire.

At 2:24 am Sunday, emergency responders were called to the 200 block of Olson Court in Fairfax. Crews arrived at the scene to find flames consuming a house.
