PLYMOUTH, Wis. (WFRV) – Nearly 400 animals were rescued from a Plymouth property after authorities uncovered what they called a major case of animal neglect.
According to the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on October 4, 2025, after receiving reports of animals running at large. When they arrived, investigators found 393 animals living in neglectful conditions.
The animals included 126 rabbits, 35 goats, five horses, 136 chickens, 10 puppies, and 81 dogs.
All of the animals were voluntarily surrendered to authorities. Deputies arrested Dean Lewerenz and Amy Thomas in connection with the case.
