MADISON, Wis. — The man charged with violently attacking his former coworker near Camp Randall allegedly used a hammer and kicked the 62-year-old victim numerous times to death, a criminal complaint alleges.

Keith Jones, 58, is accused of murdering 62-year-old Mark A. Tiggelaar of Fitchburg at the UW Athletics Operations parking lot.

According to the criminal complaint, UW-Madison Police Department officers were dispatched to a report of an active assault at around 2 a.m. on Sept. 20. UW Athletics Operations staff reported seeing the assault taking place via security cameras. Tiggelaar had been wearing a yellow polo worn by security staff, BEST Security, and was next to a dark-colored truck on the pavement.
