A man has suffered a neck injury after an attempted robbery was reported in Derby's city centre . On Thursday, October 2, police say a man was approached by another man on Becket Well Lane near Vaillant Live at around 10.45am.

The victim was assaulted and he was demanded to hand over his phone. A struggle ensued and the victim, aged in his 40s, sustained a neck injury before escaping the scene.

A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the incident. Following extensive enquiries, officers have now appealed to the public for help.

Anyone who has witnessed or has any information about the incident has been asked to come forward, as well as anyone who has CCTV footage of the area and has not already spoken with officers.
