ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCSC) - South Carolina State University’s president is expected to address security following a pair of weekend shootings.
President Alexander Conyers will hold that briefing Monday at 2:30 p.m. from the Ko W.G. Donma Administration Building lobby.
The president is expected to make a statement and will take a limited number of questions in the aftermath of two Saturday night shootings on campus.
Those two shootings left one man seriously injured and left a woman, identified as Jaliyah Butler, 19, of Saluda, dead.
A third person, another male guest, was injured while running away from one of the shootings. Students, staff and lawmakers shared several statements and witness accounts about the shooting.
