KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knox County Sheriff's Office announced that its west precinct in Turkey Creek is scheduled to close on October 10.

The office said that it lost the lease for the facility and is searching for a new location that it can afford and that is within its budget.

While KCSO will continue to serve and respond throughout Knox County, it will no longer have walk-in services at the Turkey Creek office after the close date. People in the Turkey Creek area can still reach them, and they will respond.

"We’ll share updates as we make progress on securing a new west-area location," KCSO said. "Thank you for your patience and support as we work to be responsible with taxpayer dollars."
