CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Gas is a bit cheaper in the Palmetto State than it was this time last week as supply chain variances have caused some inconsistencies across the country.

The current average price for a gallon of gas in South Carolina is down by 3.7 cents, sitting at $2.75, based on GasBuddy’s survey of over 3,000 gas stations in the state.

That price point is 5.4 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 6.9 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

Statewide, the lowest gas price was $2.47 per gallon and the highest was $3.61 per gallon over the weekend.

In the Lowcountry, the cheapest gallon of gas as of Monday morning was available at the 215 Saint James Avenue Walmart in Goose Creek and selling for $2.56.
