President Donald Trump is facing backlash on social media after he told members of the U.S. Navy that he needs to “take care” of Democrats.

Trump delivered remarks aboard the USS S. Truman at Naval Station Norfolk on Sunday to mark the 250th anniversary of the Navy. Like his other recent military speeches, he delivered a familiar speech targeting his political rivals and critics.

“We have to take care of this little gnat that’s on our shoulder called the Democrats," Trump said. “They want to give all of our money to illegal aliens that pour into the country."

“I have a bigger heart than they do," he continued. “But the problem is when you do that they come in by the millions.”
