BENNINGTON — Zachary Dumas, 39, who was acquitted in June of attempted murder, but convicted on two other felony assault counts, was sentenced to 15 to 30 years behind bars, with credit for time already served, last Friday in Bennington.
Back in the summer of 2023, Dumas prompted a days-long manhunt throughout Bennington after the alleged attempted murder and robbery of an acquaintance. He was found guilty on two of the three felony counts, and acquitted of the most serious of the charges — attempted murder — at his trial last June.
