Would-be Conservative Party leader Robert Jenrick has come in for more criticism after complaining about the number of "white faces" on a visit to Handsworth.

The Shadow Justice Secretary, who is originally from the West Midlands, reflected he " didn’t see another white face" and "that’s not the kind of country I want to live in” after returning to the region.

Anna Turley, chair of the Labour Party , said the comments were in conflict with pledges from party leader Kemi Badenoch just days ago - and demanded Mr Jenrick explains himself.
