NICHOLAS COUNTY, W.Va. (WOWK) - A man is facing charges after a shooting over the weekend in Nicholas County.
According to the Nicholas County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened just before 2:50 a.m. Saturday in Craigsville. Deputies say four individuals went to the suspect's home, during which time, a physical altercation broke out between the suspect and one of the other individuals.
The NCSO says during the altercation, the suspect, identified by authorities as Kenneth Butler, 62, of Craigsville, allegedly brandished a handgun. They say the gun was taken from him during the altercation, but Butler allegedly produced a second handgun and fired multiple times.
According to deputies, the victim was struck in the lower leg and taken to Summersville Regional Hospital by his friends.
