Eagles coach Nick Sirianni was asked Monday about Saquon Barkley’s light workload Sunday, a logical question after the star running back carried the football just six times during the team’s 21-17 loss to the Denver Broncos.

“You’re doing everything you can do in-game to win,” the Eagles coach said. “Now with that being said, of course we want to get Saquon the ball, but sometimes it’s getting him the ball through the pass game. Sometimes it’s through the running game, obviously more so through the running game with him because he’s a running back.”

Sirianni didn’t say anything about Barkley dealing with a knee injury. That bit of news came out when the Eagles released their estimated injury report ahead of Thursday night’s game with the Giants at Met Life Stadium. Barkley was
