JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — A portion of Interstate 70 westbound is back open Monday after closing for a bit due to icy conditions and multiple crashes.

"It was a busy morning, it’s Monday, and our first, what we would say is winter issues happening," Charlie Stubblefield, the Founder and Partner of Mountain Recovery, said.

He explained that they assisted in two crashes that both involved pickup trucks. He said there was a definite ice glare on the roadways, impacting drivers.

"We had 12 people on call, we had a few people out there when this went down, so we were ready and right on top of this," Stubblefield said.

The Colorado Department of Transportation was on scene as well, and portions of traffic were diverted onto Loveland Pass.
