EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -From open seats on city councils, to potential tax increases, Mid-Michigan voters can expect full ballots for the November election.
There are major decisions to be made, including whether East Lansing residents will financially support the city’s Parks, Recreation, and Arts department.
It’s been years since East Lansing Parks and Rec has run on anything other than the city’s general fund money.
Now, city officials are putting a millage proposal in front of their residents, hoping to find a long-term funding plan for the department.
The Department’s Interim Director Justin Drwencke said his team oversees all city parks, sponsors local sports and maintains several city-run facilities, including the Hannah Community Center.
