31-year-old construction worker hit and killed by school bus in Howard County

KOKOMO, Ind. — A construction worker died after being hit by a school bus Monday afternoon near Kokomo.

Indiana State Police said the crash happened on State Road 22 and County Road 400 East, east of Kokomo, around 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6.

According to a preliminary crash investigation, a 35-year-old woman from Kokomo was driving a school bus northbound on County Road 400 East, approaching State Road 22. Police said 31-year-old Aaron Esparza, from Logansport, was directing traffic in the construction zone at the intersection of State Road 22 and County Road 400 East.
