Michelle Alexander, a civil rights activist and the author of “The New Jim Crow,” will speak at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at the University Memorial Center’s Glenn Miller Ballroom at the University of Colorado Boulder, 1669 Euclid Ave.
Alexander’s career spans law, academia, advocacy and journalism, and her book “The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness” explores the prison system as a racial caste and form of racial control in the United States.
