Oregon is easily one of the very best places in the country for hiking — unless you’re afraid of a little drizzle.
A new ranking by outdoor clothing company KÜHL, which purports to have fo und “the best U.S. states for hiking,” has Oregon in the top 10, but criminally undervalues our state based on a factor that some hikers (many even!) actually value.
KÜHL’s list is based on three factors: trail networks, weather conditions and safety. It is unsurprisingly dominated by the western states, which tend to have greater access to spectacular outdoor recreation areas, including some of the most jaw-dropping national parks in the nation.
As the ranking notes, Oregon has incredible access to those natural areas.
