BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Three people were hurt in an "ambush" shooting in Cocoa, Florida, on Monday afternoon, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said.

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office said a shooting investigation was underway in the area of Clearlake Road and Minnie Street, which is south of Eastern Florida State College's Cocoa campus.

Ivey said several people got out of a vehicle and started shooting at a parked vehicle.

The three victims were taken to local hospitals.

"It appears this was an ambush that took place. Some type of retailitory thing, if you will. It appears to be a very isolated incident.
