OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — An Okaloosa County dog has been deemed a hero after alerting a deputy to his grandmother, who had fallen on a sidewalk.

According to Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office officials, a man called 911, frantic after his wife had not returned home from a dog walk.

Body camera footage shows the man telling the responding deputy that his wife is normally only gone 10 to 15 minutes, but according to the man, she had been gone for over an hour.

The footage then cuts to show the deputy driving before hearing her say, "There's the dog!"

"Hi, baby. Where's your mama?" the deputy asked the dog. "Show me where your mama is."

A few moments later, the deputy finds the woman, who was lying on a sidewalk.
