MADISON, Wis. — Madison city officials are moving to regulate hemp-derived THC products by requiring customers to be at least 21 years old to purchase them.

Common council president, Regina Vidaver is introducing the proposal at Tuesday's meeting in an effort to close loopholes she said the state isn't acting quickly enough to regulate.

"Right now, THC products are a little bit of the Wild West," Vidaver said. "We have had a major uptick in emergency room visits, particularly for children, typically using products that are candy like."
