STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – A man was found stabbed to death inside a home in West Brighton on Monday afternoon, police said.

Officers responding to a 911 call at a home on Cary Avenue between North Burgher Avenue and Broadway found the 45-year-old victim, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

The man had multiple stab wounds on his head and body, the NYPD spokesperson said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A person of interest was taken into custody for questioning, the NYPD spokesperson said.
