The Oklahoma Transportation Commission has approved the state’s new Eight-Year Construction Work Plan for Fiscal Years 2026 through 2033, authorizing nearly $8 billion in highway and bridge improvements across Oklahoma.

The plan, approved Monday during the commission’s monthly meeting, includes reconstruction and widening projects on I-35 in McClain County, shoulder additions to highways in Pottawatomie County, and shared-use paths connecting tribal facilities.

Transportation officials said the plan focuses on modernization, safety, and long-term maintenance, though some projects were moved beyond the eight-year window due to inflation and rising material costs.
