OLYMPIA Wash. (KPTV) - An intruder broke into and damaged areas of the Washington State Capitol Legislative Building before being arrested on Sunday night, according to state officials.

Surveillance video shows a car drive through a parking lot and park in front of a flag pole on the Capitol Campus, before a man exits the car and walks up the steps of the Legislative Building.

Further video shows the suspect damaging various areas of the building. According to the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services (DES), which oversees the building, the most extensive damage came in the State Reception Room.

The DES says the room holds many “priceless, irreplaceable historical artifacts,” and that some of them were damaged.
