Fire shuts down La Michoacana Ice Cream Parlor temporarily

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. — A Lenoir City ice cream parlor will be closed until further notice after a fire broke out inside the building overnight.

According to the Lenoir City Fire Department, crews responded to a fire at La Michoacana Ice Cream Parlor around 3:00 a.m. on Monday at 123 East Broadway. When crews arrived, they found smoke coming out of the first floor of the building.

Crews were able to get the fire under control about five minutes after they arrived.

"We would like to thank our auto-aid partners from Loudon Fire, who responded for manpower support, and Tellico Village Fire Department, who provided coverage at Station 2 to ensure the rest of the city remained protected during the incident," LCFD said.

Crews said they determined the fire was an accident. No one was hurt.
