(WJET/WFXP)-- What started as a quiet weekend morning walk through Frontier Park for one park goer turned into a rescue mission after finding a starving and emaciated dog abandoned along one of the trails.
The poor pooch was found all alone with her ribs and backbone showing on Saturday morning by a good Samaritan, and could tell she needed immediate help, before calling Erie police, according to the ANNA Shelter.
The ANNA Shelter said that after the dog was loaded up, the officer called his wife, who works with the shelter, and let her know he was on the way with the dog.
With little time to spare, the ANNA Shelter said their staff got ready for their arrival and, after a few hours, were able to have the dog, affectionately named Autumn, resting comfortably, but said she's still in cri
