RICHLAND, Wash. – Following the retirement of Benton County Sheriff Tom Croskrey on September 30, the county is on the hunt for a new sheriff. Acting sheriff Jon Law has been appointed by the Benton County Commissioners.

The Benton County Republican Party Central Committee is tasked with providing three qualified nominees. The commissioners have until November 30, to appoint a new sheriff, or the decision will fall to the Washington State Governor's Office.
