MCKENZIE BRIDGE, Ore. - U.S. Forest Service officials said that the 497-acre Foley Ridge Fire is now 79% contained thanks to recent cool and damp weather conditions.
The McKenzie River Type 3 Incident Management Team is still overseeing the situation. Firefighting efforts are focused on shaded fuel breaks and suppression repair, with resources being redirected as tasks conclude. Recent rain has reduced heat within the fire perimeter. Firefighters remain vigilant for hotspots, and continued caution is advised for drivers near the area due to ongoing operations.
Warmer weather is returning, with temperatures expected to reach the upper 70s. Despite this, further fire growth is unlikely. Foley Ridge Road remains closed, while McKenzie Highway is open.
