MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A suspect is in custody for attempted murder after a shooting on Friday.

Police say Isaac Kariuki was arrested on attempted murder after a person was found shot in Mesa. The shooting broke out in the early morning hours near Broadway and Alma School roads .

Police say the incident was a targeted attack and there was no threat to the community.

The victim was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be okay.
