DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — The City of Durham is mourning the unexpected loss of a community advocate who leaders said was one of the city's most impactful public servants.
Family, community members, and city officials remember DeWarren Langley, who died last week on Oct. 3 from a heart attack at the age of 41.
Over the years, CBS 17 spoke with Langley several times about his fight to protect the lives of young men and children.
"We are not doing enough to connect with, support, mentor, guide these young people so that paths of violence are not the choice," Langley said in March 2023.
