First, Mayor Eric Adams left the race for mayor . Now he’s left the country – at least for a few days.

On Monday, the mayor took off for a four-day visit to Albania at the invitation of the country’s prime minister, according to City Hall.

A spokesperson said he’ll visit with business and tech leaders in an effort to direct more economic activity and tourism to the city.

Democratic nominee and mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani was asked about the mayor’s trip at an unrelated news conference.

“I spoke to a number of Albanian New Yorkers just this weekend, but I went to Staten Island,” he said. “And that’s where I spoke to them. And what I spoke to them about was what it means to work with them here in New York City.”
