A small crowd gathered Monday afternoon at the site of a Saturday night mass shooting in downtown Montgomery for a Stop the Violence rally.

At least two people were killed and 12 others injured during the shooting at the intersection of Bibb and Commerce streets. Local activist Ja'Mel Brown organized the rally at the intersection, which was attended by about 12 people. Several of those attending broadcast the rally on social media outlets.

Brown questioned the lack of police officers in the area the night of the shooting, saying he was downtown and didn't see officers at the intersection where a large crowd had gathered. Brown said more officers are needed for future events downtown.
