BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A major change is coming to the Town of Hamburg's trash and recycling system after the town board approved the creation of a new garbage district.
Community members filled the town hall on Monday to ask numerous questions about the proposal, and almost everyone was satisfied with the change.
The Hamburg Town Board unanimously approved the creation of the new garbage district, which was first brought to life by Bob Mahoney, a town resident who chairs the Refuse and Recycling Committee.
"A lot of the residents and taxpayers came to me, and some of the old committee members," said Mahoney, "and decided that we want to have some ways to save money on our garbage. Bob, can you help us?"
