Oregon State fires assistant coach after worst start in 34 years

Oregon State fired special teams coordinator Jamie Christian on Sunday.

This comes after the Beavers 0-6 start to the season, including a 27-23 road loss on Saturday to Appalachian State. OSU will also do a "program-wide review" going forward.

Athletic director Scott Barnes said he and coach Trent Bray are "reviewing every aspect of the program and committed to making immediate changes."

Christian was in his second year of his second stint at Oregon State after four years at New Mexico. He also spent time at seven other FBS programs, along with two NFL seasons as an assistant with the San Francisco 49ers over the past two decades.
